Notorious number plate thieves arrested in Rukungiri

RUKUNGIRI- The Police in Rukungiri district have in detention two men in connection to motor vehicle number plate theft.

According to the O.C station Rukungiri Central police ASP Edwin Atukunda, the duo is Ivan Abaho 23 and Alex Musinguzi 21 all residents of Bugangari Sub County in Rukungiri district.

Atukunda adds that they were arrested from down town pub in Rukungiri town after the Police were notified by people who received messages on their phones demanding for money to recover their lost number plates.

The police then swung into action, arrested them and subsequently recovered 23 number plates belonging to the people from Bushenyi, Rukungiri and Ntungamo districts.

Atukunda asserts that the criminal duo will be arraigned in court and charged accordingly once investigations are done.
