KAMPALA– Police has attributed the increased cases of Domestic Violence, murders and robberies on it’s laxity to implement the COVID 19 regulations during Curfew times.

A letter accessed by this online publication directs all police officers to re-enforce curfew stating that it has come to police notice that Boda boda riders are nolonger observing curfew time and they are seen riding throughout the night.

“Equally the vehicles are not observing Curfew time of 2100hrs and are seen at all times of the night”- Police adds in a statement.

The letter signed by AIGP Edward Ochom the head of Operations in Police indicates that bars have not been allowed to operate but information pertaining is that some of these bars and disco theques are alleged to be protected by security personnel while in operation.

AIGP Ochom believes that this is the time when crimes should be going down with the help of other security agencies and SPCs but shockingly they have increased.

“Your are instructed to immediately implement the COVID 19 regulations, have snap checks to regulate Movements during Curfew times and intensify foot and motorized patrols.” AIGP adds in a letter
