IBANDA– The police in Ibanda District are holding four suspects in connection to the murder of an 87 years old man.
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, the incident happened at Kayenje cell, Kayenje ward in Bufunda division Ibanda Municipality.
It’s alleged that on 1st November 2021 at around 6pm, the deceased Kuhurubuka Furigensio was attacked by two unidentified men in his house strangling him to death and robbed him of a yet to be identified amount of money that he had been paid to hire his land out.
Kasasira adds that the incident was reported at Nyabuhikye Police station by Twahikwa Florence a businesswomen and resident of Nyabuhikye trading centre in Ibanda municipality that the deceased had been murdered by unidentified assailants.
“The crime scene was cordoned off and examined by the scene of crime officers plus the homicide team, the dead body was found lying inside the house blood oozing through the mouth with signs of strangulation around the neck”- Kasasira asserts.
By press time the body had been taken to Ruhoko mortuary pending postmortem with the four murder suspects held at CPS Ibanda as inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
The case of Murder by strangulation has since been registered under Reference number SD REF66/01/11/2021.
