NEWS– The Police in Rukungiri are hunting for assailant(s) who stabbed a 15′ years old girl to death and critically injured another one.
The deceased is one Arinda Valeria Trassy a Pupil at Unity Primary school and injured is Catherine Mercy residents of Kyebumbire cell Burombe parish Ruhinda sub county Rukungiri district.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesperson, It’s alleged that in the night of 8th August 2022 at around 10pm, at Kyebumbire cell, one Mundekye Dafuroza left her grand children in the house revising their notes.
She went to check on her sick sister in-law in the neighborhood.
While still there, she heard an alarm coming from the direction of her home.
She immediately rushed there & upon her arrival she found the deceased lying out side after she had sustained a deep stab wound on the chest region and was already dead whereas the second victim was lying besides with deep cut wounds on the left arm but she revealed to the grand mother how they were attacked by thugs who attempted to steal mattresses in their house.
In so doing the deceased & the victim made alarm hence they were stabbed by thugs and ran away an unidentified.
Maate adds that the survivor was then rushed to a nearby clinic.
Police was notified by Denis Tayebwa, at Ruhinda Police station,
crime scene visited and documented and later the body was taken to Rwakabengo H/center 3 mortuary for Postmortem.
Three suspects have since been arrested to help in investigations with the case registered under reference number CRB: 759/2022.
