MITOOMA- Two men have died in Mitooma district following a bar scuffle.
The deceased are Julius Atwijukire and Gideon Twesigye, both residents of Bushasha B, Ryengyerero parish Rurehe Sub County in Mitooma District.
It is alleged that on 5th Feb 2023, while at Matsiko’s bar, Twesigye clobbered and killed Atwijukire with a piece of firewood, then angry residents also clobbered Twesigye until he went into coma.
SP Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson told journalists Police intervened took Atwijukire’s body and unconscious Twesigye to Mitooma health centre IV.
Tumusiime added that Twesigye unfortunately died on arrival at the health centre and both bodies were taken to mortuary for postmortem examination.
He notes that no arrest has so far been made in connection to the murder of Twesigye but police inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
