NEWS- The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna has lauded Mothers Union Members and Christian women participation across the diocese for their efforts towards Preaching the Gospel of God, strengthening and building the church.

Bishop Akanjuna said this in his remarks during the official function to bid farewell to Mothers Union worker, Kedress Mutabazi and the old Executive committee of Mothers Union in the diocese at St Peter’s Cathedral Church Rugarama in Kabale Municipality.

Bishop Akanjuna said that Mothers Union members and Christian women participation in church activities vividly evidenced by Singing in Church choirs, acting as Chief Church wardens and wardens among others have strengthened the church.

Bishop Akanjuna applauded Kedress Mutabazi for the commitment, love, trust and cooperation she had during her 12 years serving as Mothers Union Worker.

Speaking during the function, the former Diocese of Kigezi Mother Union President, Maama Chris Bagamuhunda commended Kedress Mutabazi for being a strong pillar, an effective leader with interpersonal character and listening skills during her tenure.

In her speech, Kedress Mutabazi commended the three Bishop’s, Bishop Emeritus Goerge Katwesigye, Bishop Emeritus Goerge Bagamuhunda and Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna, Mothers Union Executive and members she has served with during her tenure in office, which she termed as a good gesture.

She appealed to the active Mothers Union Executive and Committee members to keep on executing the work to keep the Ministry of God high.
