Bushenyi District Councillors in session

NEWS- Bushenyi district councilors recently stormed out of the emergency session accusing the speaker Douglas Muchunguzi of making decisions without consulting them.

The meeting had to discuss a motion on whether Karinju and Imaramagambo forest reserves should be annexed to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Trouble started when Douglas allowed Mbwatekwamwa Gaffa the Igara West Member of Parliament to speak before the house without members’ consent.

Members argued that Mbwatekwamwa should have spoken last about the matter that was before the house after they had given their submissions.

However, on their return, the speaker insisted that the councillors who stormed out, led by the district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba should apologise which they all objected leading into another chaos that forced the speaker to adjourn the meeting for 30 minutes.
