NEWS- The new E-Cash payment system has delayed payments of arrears to the VHTs and healthy workers who participated in Vaccination campaigns in Rukiga district.
According to the Rukiga District Health officer (DHO) Dr. Musiimenta Emmanuel, there were Mismatch of Names, Phones not registered in the owners Names and poor internet connectivity thus delaying the process.
Musiimenta added that he has received a lot of complaints over the delayed payments but insisted that under the E-Cash payment system, every person will be getting his/her money wired on their phones or on their Bank accounts directly from the National level.

Musiimenta’s comments come at a time when a number of Village Healthy Teams (VHTs) and healthy workers are raising a red flag suspecting that their money might have been released but stuck in the hands of individuals.
The DHO further cautioned some health workers to stop pinning their supervisors to be holding their money stressing that all complaints must be addressed to relevant authorities rather than carrying false messages to the public.
