NEWS- Parents have been urged to shun domestic violence cases in their families as it affects their children’s performance at school.
The remarks were made by Iporito Kinyaata, the Ruhaama sub county Chairperson during the commemoration of 20 years of existence of Central SS Ruhaama and thanksgiving as a result of the best performance in last year’s UCE and UACE Exams.
Kinyaata also asked the learners to avoid taking sides in their parents’ family affairs since it’s unhealthy.
Rev. Fr. Julius Fokushaba, the parish priest Rweera catholic parish who led the thanksgiving mass challenged people to always be thankful to God for whatever achievement attained stressing that some tend to forget.
On behalf of the Directors, Tadius Nimusiima revealed that the school was started by three people in 2003 and that there has never been any conflict amongst them owing all this to co-operation.
Nimusiima disclosed that they started from scratch with the help of Mzee Francis Kafuruka the father to one of the directors by giving the land to erect a temporary structure and the late Deo Tumuhimbise a mansion who offered to construct for them the school’s main hall at a debt.
Phillip Bigambwensi, the Headteacher disclosed that the school has always performed very well but praised last year’s candidates whose among them, the best student scored 13 Aggregates in UCE Exams, 13 passed in Division one and 34 in Division two.
He added that they had the best student in last year’s UACE Exams with 17 points and others obtained enough points to get them University Vacancies noting that because of this, the school’s enrolment has this year increased to 1,188 students.
Hon. Kyofuna Justine, who has been the Chairperson PTA since 2003 said that the school has registered a number of achievements like purchasing of school bus, construction of more classrooms, accommodation for students both boys and girls, safe piped water among others and mainly with the good will of parents.
Present were the Old students who donated a number of items, Hon. Ahabwe Bernard Mukasa Mupenda, Hon. Mpirirwe Naboth, Kamayangi Gloria among others.
