Drivers goes into hiding in Kabale after knocking a juvenile dead


NEWS- The Police in Kabale District are hunting for a motor vehicle driver who knocked dead a 13 year juvenile pedestrian and took into hiding at Bukoora village, Kitumba Sub County in Kabale District.

ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson identified the deceased as Kibanza Jordan, a son to Johnson Byensi Rwagala of Kyondo cell, Katenga parish Kamuganguzi Sub County in Kabale district.

Maate told journalists that the fatal accident occurred on Thursday at around 11:30am in Bukoora village when the driver only identified as Meshach was driving motor vehicle registration number UBK 874E Isuzu Forward knocked dead a juvenile pedestrian and took off into hiding. 

Police was alerted, by Samson Munyaneza 47, a resident of Bugongi, Central Division in Kabale municipality, visited the scene and body was taken to Kabale referral hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination and the motor vehicle is parked at Kabale Central Police station yard pending IOV inspection.

The police spokesperson told journalists that the cause of the accident is not yet established as inquiries are still ongoing.Police notes that a Case of fatal road accident was registered at Kabale police station under reference number  TAR 32/2023.
