NEWS– The former wives of the late Rugyengye Justus who succumbed to a mysterious death in November last year have remained divided over the deceased’s property.

Rugyengye who was buried in Bukoora, Kitumba Sub County in Kabale District and a former resident of Mbalwa, Namugongo Division, Kira Municipality, in Wakiso district died on 10th Nov 2022 from Rwatira hospital in Bweyogerere leaving behind 4 wives, 10 children and a grandchild.

The matter has been in court and recently, the Assistant Administrator General cleared Ms. Shallot Kwikiriza the State Attorney of Kajansi and her son plus a one Annet, another wife to be administrators of the some estates, of which Ms. Nice Mbabazi the 4th wife to the late and Mama Natasha from Kabale, first wife were not considered.

Sources from the meeting held on Tuesday this week at the Administrator General office, Nice Mbabazi was put on condition that her son Tumusime Rugyegye must be subjected to a DNA test to ascertain that he is actually the deceased’s son.

Mbabazi had reportedly written to the Administrator general protesting the decision to grant Shallot and others power to become administrators of Rugyengye’s estate.

She reportedly told the officials that Shallot is unfit to lead the family though she is the Kate’s Official wife on grounds that she failed or refused to conduct a family meeting and has never provided them with any support since her husband passed on last year yet they are mothers to children of the late tycoon.

“Our children are entitled to the basics of life but since my husband passed on, we have never gotten anything. I tried to seek help from LCs, the probation officer and Police of Kira in Namugongo but they all seem to be intimidated after learning that Shallot is a State attorney and couldn’t help me” said Mbabazi.

Mbabazi also alleges that Irene Tayebwa, a sister to Justus Rugyengye and a Coke Cola Manager, has recently been bribed with a Red double cabin Matorvahicle to win her support.

It is also said that sometime back, Shallot arranged a DNA test which flopped because it wasn’t sanctioned by the Administrator General, where the doctors had come in one of the family meeting to explain how the DNA samples were extracted from the late Rugyengye but the explanations seemed not convincing to all other wives of the late.

The Public Relations officer to the Director of Public Prosecutions Jacquelyn Okui, had earlier confirmed that they will properly handle Mbabazi’s complaint if it is formally made at their office with all the requirements.

Some family sources confirmed to this reporter that the Administrator general’s office needed to move on ground in their home district Kabale and conduct a family meeting with the latest close relative before allowing anyone to take charge of Rugyengye’s estates.

Some sources also say that relatives of the late and a one Shallot may also soon get engulfed in another property wrangle since some are very poor having not received much from the fallen city tycoon who was guarded by his tough wife.

Family further pleads to prominent people like Gen Kasoka and Gen. Timothy Mutebile to prevail into the matter to forestall unnecessary family wrangles partly caused by widow who is said to be seemingly excited to be the acting family head.
