NEWS– The Kisoro grade one magistrate, Raphael Vueni has said that he is worried of the high cases of family neglect by men registered on a daily basis.
Vueni revealed this to the district coordinating committee (DCC) on Friday while meeting with the Resident Judge for Kabale High Court circuit that was on an inspection visit to Kisoro court.
According to Vueni, there is an increased failure to provide and cater for families, paying school fees and buying food by men, which has left many mothers flocking to the court seeking for judicial actions against their husbands.
He said that the situation worries his work as fathers have always testified before court that they have nothing to give to their families giving him a dilemma to make decisions since sentencing a man does not provide families with basic needs.

Vueni called upon the judiciary and local governments to always make a budget for training local council courts on basic laws that can improve their performances in handling certain cases.
Justice Samuel Emokor, the Resident Judge Kabale Circuit added his voice by saying that he once remanded men for failure to cater for their families but their wives shortly demanded for their release because they were missing them at home.
