NEWS- Bukimbiri Boda Boda Operators limited this week petitioned the Kisoro deputy Resident District Commissioner, Tukamuhebwa Robert over alleged harassment by leaders of Kisoro United Boda Boda Operators (KUBO).
This stemmed from an incident where KUBO leaders confiscated a motorcycle belonging to one of the members of Bukimbiri boda boda operators Ltd in Kisoro Municipality.
The riders led by their chairperson Mugabe Robert took their petition to the office of Kisoro deputy RDC accusing KUBO chairperson a one Kalangala and his executive members of harassing them.
Mugabe insisted that their association is registered and the constitution of Uganda allows them to operate freely within the law adding that they formed this new association to bring services nearer to people.
He further noted that their next step would be seeking court redress should KUBO leadership continue interfering into their work

The Nkuringo town council councillor Bahinyuza Festus asked KUBO leadership to let riders from Bukimbiri form their own association in order to get wider areas of lobbying for the operators in the district.
Bahinyuza also challenged KUBO to strive for formation of a union, adding that it can only be achieved through having different associations

The Kirundo male district councilor Bishubeho Louise, decried what he termed as discrimination against the people of Bukimbiri at the district level stressing that the new association is meant to develop people from this County.

Kisoro deputy RDC, Robert Tukamuhebwa warned that any rider caught violating security guidelines will be arrested.
Tukamuhebwa asked KUBO executive members to seek redress from courts of law if they have evidence that Bukimbiri boda boda operators Ltd members are operating illegally
