Kyegegwa PWDs get 5 Million shillings from Gov’t

KYEGEGWA- Members of Mpara Abarema Tweimukye group located in Mpara town council, Kyegegwa district have a reason to smile after receiving Ugx 5Million from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.

Speaking to the beneficiaries on Saturday afternoon at Mpara community hall after receiving the money, the group Chairperson Katusabe Reginah said the fund under the National Special Grant for PWD’s is aimed at improving their household income noting that they selected the enterprise of goat rearing.

The Chairperson together with Members also appreciated the NRM government under the leadership of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and their leaders for their lobbying capacity towards their success of receiving funds.

John Nyandera, the male district councilor representing PWDs, asked people with disabilities to form more groups so that they can be supported by the government.

Nyandera also asked PWD’s in the district to set up income generating activities to improve their welfare.

The Kyegegwa district deputy speaker, also councilor representing Mpara town council Tumuhairwe Eve who also witnessed the giving out of cash to beneficiaries, warned them against diverting the funds from the intended enterprise.
