Man dies after whole day boozing for, body found in middle of the road

NEWS- An old man who is alleged to have spent the whole day drinking Mkomboti and waragi together with his biological son in Kisoro district was on Monday discovered dead, his body lying in the middle of the road.

According to the Kigezi Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, the deceased has been identified as Jackson Mukungu 73, a resident of Buhayo village Mbuga parish Nyakinama Sub County in the Kisoro district.

The police mouthpiece told journalists that allegations have it that on Sunday, the deceased spent the whole day drinking Mkomboti and waragi together with his son in Kiseke trading center.

Later during the day Jackson, now the late, bought pork and informed his son that he was going to prepare some food for himself which he never did but returned to the center and continued drinking.

Matte adds that on Monday 29^th May 2023, the son Habimana Vincent received information that his father was lying dead in the middle of Kamonyi-Nyetete Road in Bugwene village.

It was from then that he reported the matter to Police, scene was visited and documented, body taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for Postmortem examination.

Maate further confirmed to this reporter that the Sudden death incidence was registered to Kisoro Central Police Station under the file Number DEF 005/2023 as Inquiries are at hand.
