Rukiga boda boda cyclist found dead after days of disappearence

NEWS- The territorial police in Rukiga district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a boda boda cyclist who disappeared on Wednesday last week.

Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate identifies the Deceased as Medson Byamukama 34, a resident of Nyakagyera cell Nyaburambi parish in Rwamucucu sub county.

According to Maate, the deceased is alleged to have disappeared on 24th May 2023 at around 1Pm, with his motorcycle Reg no UFA 648R Bajaj Boxer, until on Wednesday 31st May 2023 when his body was discovered in the bush about 10 meters off the road by residents of Butambi cell, Noozi parish in Rwamucucu Sub County.

Upon discovering the body, residents notified Police, which swung into action, documented the scene and the body was taken to Mparo health centre IV mortuary for postmortem examination.

The police spokesperson added that fortunately on the same day, the motorcycle was also recovered in Nyamweru sub county Rubanda district with one Ismail Akandwanaho who was arrested for questioning.

The Murder case was registered at Rukiga Central Police Station under file number CRB 253/2023 as more inquiries are underway.
