EC boss warns voters against unlawful misconduct during Hoima by-election

NEWS- The Chairman of the Electoral Commission Justice Byabakama Mugyenyi Simon has made it categorically clear that any person found conducting unlawful acts during the bye election of Hoima District LC 5 will be dealt with accordingly. 

Justice Byabakama Mugyenyi made this statement today while addressing the media and stakeholders in the pre polling briefing for the scheduled bye election in Hoima District tomorrow.

He said that all the preparations to ensure a free and fair election have been put in place and all activities leading to the bye election which include update and display of voters register, nominations and candidates campaigns have been held and voting will take place at all the 173 polling stations in the District.

He said that a voters complaints desk and media relations have been established at Dwoli Primary School playground in Kitoba Subcounty to address all the issues raised by candidates or their agents regarding the election.

Justice Byabakama Mugyenyi therefore asked the candidates, their agents and supporters to conduct themselves in accordance with the laws and guidelines in order for the Electoral Commission to register a credible election.
