Kabale to host National Games and Sports Championship for Health Training Institutions

NEWS- 4000 participants are expected in the 21^st National Games and Sports Championship for Health Training Institutions that are to be hosted at Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing, in Kabale Municipality.

Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing is set to host the sports events from 10^th to 16^th of September 2023, where all the 70 Institutions are expected to take part in the sporting competitions organized by the Association of Principals of Health Training Institutions of Uganda, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports.

According to the Chairperson Organising committee of Kabale team Ronald Dangi, some of the sporting events where institutions will compete in include Athletics, football for boys and girls, netball, volley, basketball, wood ball, and among others.

The Principal of Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing Josephine Nambiro Kigozi said that they have already prepared accommodation and meals for the participants despite limited resources.

Nambiro added that they have also written to the District Heads of Security who have confirmed deploying enough personnel considering the current suspected terror attack in the Country.

The Principal noted that the events are organized under the theme “prevention of non-communicable diseases”.

The Kabale District Police Commander Abel Ruganza confirmed that they have already made several deployments and mapping of the town to ensure that there is peace during the events and asked people to be vigilant to each other because such events sometimes come up with wrongdoers.
